The Todd Creek Village community’s water comes from multiple sources and has enough water for complete buildout. Currently we source water form deep groundwater wells, alluvial wells, and surface (lakes, rivers, and streams). Our water rights allow us to utilize water out of the South Platte River, which is a renewable water source, store it, purify it and through what’s called augmentation, put non-potable water back into the River.
There are two water storage reservoirs within our service area. They are the Signal and Smith Reservoirs. In the near future, there will be storage in one of the Mann Lakes.
The importance of water storage is both for fire fighting and for reliability should there be a draught.
