Managing Your Irrigation System
The District’s irrigation system is turned on for the season on April 1st of each year. The District starts loading the main lines approximately 2 weeks prior to start up and pressurizes the lines approximately 4 days prior to the official start date.
Here is what you need to know about start up and shut down of your irrigation system

At the Beginning of the Irrigation Season (April 1st)
Prior to April 1st, keep your system closed from the District’s main line until you can be present to turn on and load your system. This allows you to check for leaks or breaks in your system. This also protects you from the District unintentionally loading your system.
At The End of the Irrigation Season (October 31st)
Each customer is required to have a “stop and waste valve” or some form of shut off from the District’s system.
This Stop and Waste Valve needs to be in the closed position at the end of the irrigation season, prior to winterizing your system. (Most stop and wastes are reached with a long key).
If you do not close off from the main lines and attempt to blow off water remaining in your system, the meter could be damaged. You will be responsible for damage to the meter.
Cost for the meter repair is $200 and will be charged to your water bill.
Please contact the District office should you have any questions.
Beginning with the November 2011 read, the District will do one last reading for the irrigation meters for the year. This way the District will be able to bill for any water that is used after the read in October and when the irrigation pump station is shut down. The irrigation water is available from April 1 to October 31 every year. The change will be one last billing for irrigation water in November that will show on the billing that homeowners will receive the beginning of December.
